
Seriously, it is this easy. I had some leftover apples that were a bit too ripe to enjoy plain (I like 'em crispy), so I decided to try to make applesauce - I think it worked. :) I left on the peels for extra nutrients, but it's not necessary. You could also mix in a peach or two for flavor, if desired, or leave out the cinnamon.
Simple Applesauce
- 4 large apples (I like my applesauce tart, so I prefer Granny Smith or Fuji)
- scant 1/8 C. water
- 1/2 Tbsp. cinnamon
- pinch brown sugar
- Combine all in a pot with a lid; simmer until just tender.
- Place in food processor or blender until smooth.
- Enjoy! Keep refridgerated.
