Power Smoothie - Pineapple Banana


When I was pregnant, Jesse and I made smoothies nightly. It is a great way to get in nutrients that you may have missed during the day, they're fun to make, and delicious! Our regular smoothies were more du jour than specific, but last night we came up with this creation and I just had to share. Enjoy!!


Pineapple Banana Smoothie

- 1 1/4 C. apple juice
- 3/4 C. kefir (or other probiotic, such as plain yogurt)
- 2 bananas
- 1 1/4 C. fresh pineapple, preferably frozen
- 1 Tbsp. hemp oil (more if you're pregnant! Great fats!)

- Place in blender; blend until smooth. Enjoy!

* Other addition ideas: hard boiled eggs (seriously! cannot taste, and get you protein), gtound flax seed, ground sesame seeds (a surprisingly great source of calcium!)
